FAQ

Common questions

Everything parents ask before enrolling. Can't find your answer? Give us a call.

Our centre is right on-site at Marina View School. For children under 7 and newly enrolled children, our staff personally collect them from their classrooms and walk them to the centre. Older children who are familiar with the programme walk directly to us when the bell rings. No external transport needed.

Our programme ends at 6:00pm. A late fee of $1 per minute applies immediately from 6:00pm. If we are unable to reach you, we will contact your listed emergency contacts. Please ensure your contact details are always up to date.

Only people listed as authorised persons on your child's enrolment form can collect them. If someone else needs to pick up your child, please contact us in advance to arrange it. We will ask for identification from anyone we don't recognise — this is for your child's safety.

Before school care includes a full breakfast: cereal, toast with spreads, fruit, and hot chocolate. After school care includes an afternoon snack such as fruit, biscuits, popcorn, or chips. For holiday programmes, children need to bring their own lunch (except on food-themed days). Water is always available.

Please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements when you enrol. We'll work with you to ensure your child is safe and catered for.

On their first day, our staff will collect your child from their classroom and walk them to the centre, introduce them to the team, and help them settle in. We want every child to feel welcome and comfortable from day one.

Yes! We run a special programme on teacher-only days, similar to our holiday programme. This is a huge help for working parents when school is closed during term. Details and pricing are shared in advance so you can book your child's spot.

Absolutely. While we're based at Marina View School, children from any school are welcome to attend our programmes. This is especially popular for our holiday programme, which is open to all children aged 5–13 in the wider West Auckland area.

We provide a supervised space where children can choose to do homework if they wish, but we don't run formal homework sessions. Our focus is on rest, play, and fun after a long school day.

We ask that children do not bring personal devices (phones, tablets, gaming consoles) or toys to the programme. We have plenty of activities, games, and equipment on-site to keep them entertained. This also avoids the risk of items being lost or damaged.

We welcome all children and work with families to understand their child's needs. For children with additional needs, we offer a trial period so we can assess how best to support your child in our environment. Please mention this when enquiring so we can plan together.

We believe in positive guidance and setting clear, fair expectations. Our staff focus on encouraging good behaviour, redirecting when needed, and helping children develop social skills in a supportive environment. If a pattern of behaviour becomes a concern, we'll work with parents to find a solution together.

Regular rates are for children who attend on a consistent, ongoing basis. Casual rates are for one-off or irregular sessions and require immediate payment at the time of booking.

You can book online through our AimyOne booking portal, or call us on 027 236 8382 and we'll walk you through the process. It only takes a few minutes.

The OSCAR (Out of School Care and Recreation) subsidy is available through Work and Income New Zealand for eligible families. It can significantly reduce your childcare costs — some families pay as little as $2 per day. We're an approved OSCAR provider and can help you with the paperwork. Note that you'll need to reapply each term and separately for holiday programmes.

We accept credit card, debit card, direct debit, and internet banking. We do not accept cash payments.

We maintain an approximate ratio of 1 supervisor to every 10 children. All our staff are police vetted, experienced, and trained in first aid and child safety.

Trip days include outings to places like the movies, bowling alleys, trampoline parks, and local farms. All transport is arranged by us with verified providers. We maintain strict health and safety checklists and appropriate supervisor ratios for all off-site activities.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. For holiday programme bookings, invoices must be paid before the programme starts — bookings may be cancelled if payment isn't received.
